Road Trip Budgeting + Free Atlanta Travel Show! Wanderlust Weekly Mar 1, 2024
New road trip guide, plus get a free ticket to the Atlanta Travel and Adventure Show
Hi there, March! You’re supposed to come in like a lion, but February went out like one. We had MAJOR storms this week. I’ve lived in the Midwest all but four of my nearly 54 years, and I’ve never heard sustained thunder like that. It had been 70 in the afternoon, and the next morning there was snow on the ground.
There’s no snow in Atlanta, however (unless I just cursed myself), and that’s where I’ll be next week. I’ve never been to ATL, and my first time visiting I’m speaking at the Travel and Adventure Show. How fun! I’m arriving Wednesday night and Mom will be there Thursday. We’re exploring the Georgia Aquarium that afternoon, and Friday after set-up we’ll be out and about in Cobb County.
I’m all prepped to go because I’ve updated Planning Your Perfect Road Trip, my book that grew out of the chat I give at the show. This week I posted a new excerpt: How to Budget a Road Trip. I lay out not only what to include in your budget, but also how to stay on track.
I mentioned last week that Mom’s never seen me speak. Thanks to Charlene Scott of Roadrunner Journeys, she’ll be able to! Charlene’s going to handle our booth so Mom can join me at the Savvy Traveler stage on Saturday. Thank you, Charlene!
If you’re in or near Atlanta, I’m speaking about Planning Your Perfect Road Trip on Saturday at 11:45am and Sunday at 1:45pm on the Savvy Traveler stage.

I’m also exhibiting at Booth 347. Come by, enter to win my books, and grab some candy.

That’s it for this week. I’ve got errands to run before my date afternoon with my husband. We’re making our way through Pub 47’s $5 happy hour menu. Or maybe we’ll get fish and chips and I can compare them to what I had in Bath. (Not fair, I know.) It’ll be an adventure!
Until next week…
Love and Wanderlust,
Theresa Goodrich
p.s. Quick reminder that I’m updating the Printable Road Trip Planner. The price will increase, but you can get it now for $8 with code PRT. If you’ve purchased one in the past, I’ll send you the updated version when it’s done.
Happy to help and to see you in Atlanta.
